Hi Fi 101 - Hi Fi for beginners

A chat about the basic components needed to get you started on the path to musical Nirvana. For those who wonder why bother when you can get cheap CD players et al down Tesco/Walmart etc.., taking the time and finding the budget for a dedicated stereo HiFi set up reaps musical results worth many times the value of the equipment. The only thing I can say is, "Hear it for yourself!" Similarly, I make apologies for those who already know this stuff. This video is intended as a very simple guide for those interested people I know, who are not in possession of these facts. Listen to my P5 and Apollo demos on YouTube through a good set of headphones - these will give a TEENY WEENY taster of what I hear at home when I play a record or CD!

My Revised Basement Stereo Setup

I finally put two cassette decks into my basement stereo setup. It's been a few years since that system had a working cassette deck in it, and I was missing it. I also talk about some Type II high bias tapes from Fuji Film and RadioShack. If you are interested in ordering some of the RadioShack tapes from Easy Street Electronics (provided they still have some to sell), here is the link: www.easystreetelectronics.com Note that if you place an order with Easy Street Electronics, you absolutely MUST make sure the shipping method is sane. Don't say I didn't warn you!
